i am going to brew this goddamn potion if it kills me.
Jenn and I fucked around with Pottermore today and it was underwhelming. (We made a date to do this and kept it, despite multiple schedule changes. Nerds.)
I liked being sorted (even though I got Hufflepuff. I am learning to be proud of my Hufflepuff heritage), I liked getting a wand (dogwood, phoenix core, fourteen and a half inches, hard, yeahhhhh grrl) and I liked all the backstory stuff. Especially the Professor McGonagall stories; I worked at four Harry Potter parties in my life and dressed up as her every time, so I have a special place in my heart for her, and it was touching to find out she’s a fellow concussion sufferer. And that she’s had love in her life, I always worried about that.
On the other hand I am not much for video games, and so I found a lot of it confusing or boring. Mostly I was just randomly clicking on things a lot, hoping to get more backstory. All in all, it would have been a better use of time just to re-read one of the books.
Worth a shot, though. (There’s that famous Hufflepuff optimism!)
