Hi tumblarians and other readers: this afternoon I am leading a session called “Tumblr for Adult Readers’ Advisory.” Have you been waiting for an opportunity to have a lot of smart librarians give you book suggestions all at once? Sort of like playing book football, where you are the guy running down the field with your arms empty because you don’t know what to read, and then all the librarians tackle you with book suggestions, and nobody gets a concussion, and then all the librarians gently help you get up and score a touchdown anyway, and then everyone goes off to read silently?
Today is the day! The session includes time to do some actual RA on tumblr, and we’ll be accessing the #bookadvice tag to find RA opportunities. Ask your book questions by 1pm to get in on it.
(Fellow librarians, if you would like to host a similar session in your library, I have uploaded my handout (screencapped above) to Scribd here, and made the Prezi I’m using public here. In my opinion, tumblr could use more RA, and RA could use more tumblr, so go to.)
